Hey! Been a while since I’ve updated you all on the goings-on on my studio. Honestly, I’ve been a busy bee and creating all kinds of things. I decided to try my hand at t-shirts, while adding more totes and coffee mugs. And OBVIOUSLY I’m adding more artwork for sale. Check out below:
I’m tinkering around with phone cases in the next few weeks. Those are taking a while because I have to create things that work for both iPhones and Samsung phones (sorry Google phone users). But progress is being made.
Also, I’m adding more bundles to my shop! I have my “Little Robots” print bundle and my “Little Faces” mug set ready to go! I would like to add an option for 8×10 artwork and 5×7 artwork, namely being able to buy two or three prints at a time at a discount.
I still continue to develop my portfolio page as well. I’m currently in the preliminary sketches for my next design set. I take my time on these since there is a LOT of work that goes into them. I create artwork and patterns for each, as well as a plethora of mock-ups to showcase each design. It’s labor intensive for sure, but it’s a labor of love. So…worth it. And it’s amazing to see my portfolio page grow with each new design.
I’m honestly really proud of myself and how far I have come as an artist. I recently went back and looked at older work and WOW. Now, I like my older stuff, don’t get me wrong. But my newer stuff looks, well, professional. I have put in a lot of time learning and refining my skillset as an illustrator. I’ve learned that quality is always better than quantity for me, as I like taking my time to make sure each new piece is how I want it in terms of design and color. So go me!
Finally, I was able to take a trip recently to Miami. Miami is…special. I enjoyed my time down there relaxing, perhaps a little too much since I didn’t draw much of anything. Sorry not sorry. The resort I was at was awesome and the pool (as well as the attached drink cabana) beckoned. But when I got home, I felt rejuvenated and ready to tackle more projects. I think it’s important for us all to take a break every now and then to recharge our batteries, so to speak. Plus, I got to spend more time with my husband, which I needed. His travel schedule is crazy right now and it was nice chilling out with him more during his breaks.
As for the next few weeks, keep an eye out for phone cases, another new design and pattern set, and more summer-inspired artwork. I’m also feeling pulled to more cut paper collage work in my sketchbooks so I may or may not be doing more of that.
